Here are the details we have so far.

The shooting occurred at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, about 35 miles east of San Antonio. The shooting occurred at about 11:30 a.m., after the service had begun. An average of 50 people attend services on an average Sunday. The shooting occurred during the morning service. The church is known for having the only food pantry in the community.

The shooter is dead. He reportedly walked into the church in what a witness described as “full gear.”

A Facebook post (included below) says the shooter fled the scene but was apprehended and supposedly killed nearby.

Several children, including a two-year-old, are among those shot. Their condition is unknown.

Witnesses at a gas station across the street heard as many as 20 shots and called police.

Earlier, Jesse Rodriquez of MSNBC’s Morning Joe said 10-15 people may be dead.

Here is the Facebook post claiming to provide more details on the shooter. This is not confirmed.
